Now those people who don’t want to have ‘blue check mark’ read receipt feature on their WhatsApp so now they have the option to disable by making some configuration in their app settings.
Before this, We would like to give you a brief description of this feature,, and it was unveiled by company a few days back and still in test. But the the company didn’t receive much positive responses for this feature. In past, WhatsApp had two ticks for sending and receiving messages where one tick signifies that message has been successfully sent, and double tick justifies that message has been successfully delivered to receiver’s app and now this blue tick shows that your message has been read by the receiver.
Now WhatApp has made an update but currently not available on Google Play Store so you have to configure things manually, and you have to follow the steps mentioned below:
- Download the upgraded version from WhatsApp website.
- But before download, your device should comply with minimum requirement (Android OS 2.1 or Above, Tablet devices are not supported.)
- Now go to privacy section in settings where you’ll see ‘read receipts’ feature is located at the end under Privacy which stated: “If you turn off read receipts, you won’t be able to see read receipts from other people.”
