Chevrolet, a division of General Motors Company, is well known for producing quality cars in the automobile industry across the globe. Although, when it comes to the Indian market, the company is still facing a status of intermediate player regardless of its exceptional products such as Tavera and Beat. But it seems the company is all set to fire back with its new in line SUV named Chevrolet Trailblazer 2015.
The SUV space has been a well agonistic segment with a whole bunch of players, especially in India, as the market consists some maestro players like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and even the Trailblazer.
Chevrolet Trailblazer is a massive, heavy, and rugged SUV from the Chevrolet, which now replaces the Captiva SUV. The car was launched in India, last week, at Rs 26.4 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Trailblazer will compete against players like Santa Fe, Fortuner, Endeavour. As far as the car specs are concerned, The SUV is powered by a massive 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder, diesel engine that claims 197bhp at 3600rpm and 500Nm of maximum torque from as low as 2000rpm. Its fuel-efficiency is determined at 11.45 km/l.
From design’s perspective, the SUV has a tempting look from outside, the front of the Car perceives, company’s eternal two-part grille that we have seen in cars like Beat and Spark. The front side of SUV is flanked by acute looking projector headlamps which are becoming generic in almost every new car.
The outlook of the Trailblazer reminds you of the Chevrolet’s Captiva as the design gets softer having a simple and elegant essence. Although, the car seems more muscular in looks as compared to Toyota Fortuner as the overall length and width of the SUV is a bit large. If we’re talking about the ground clearance aspect, then Trailblazer has a better ground clearance of 241 mm, which is higher than that of the rivals like Fortuner which stands at 220mm.
The car’s interiors are well structured, it gets three rows of seating having the adequate amount of leg-room for a long drive and a 7-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with a smartphone app link, but lacks a navigation system.
The SUV will be launched only in one variant ‘LTZ’ in India and will have features like dual front air bags, ABS with EBD, Hill start assist, Traction control, hill decent control.
The Trailblazer comes in three color variants that include Summit White, Black Sapphire, and Switchblade Silver.
