The Wait seems over for Indians, Tesla might launch their Model 3 (electric car) in India by this summer.
Tesla’s autonomous electric car is expected to arrive in Indian roads anytime between mid-June and early-September.
Responding to a person’s question, Elon Musk said on Tuesday night, the company plans to debut its car in India this summer.

For those who are not aware of the whole Tesla scenario for Indian consumers, Musk announced the affordable edition of the Tesla Model 3 last year, aimed at mass-market, priced at $35,000. He added that Model 3 will be available to purchase in several new markets including India, New Zealand, Brazil, and South Africa and opened pre-orders for $1,000. The delivery of the car was expected to begin by the end of 2017.
Though the eventual price of the Model 3 is expected to carry a heavy import duty, as per domestic law. According to various reports, Tesla and Indian government has had discussions on getting the car manufacturer to setup a plant in the country. So that, the company can avail tax concessions and benefits from the government.
Having said that, it will be interesting to see autonomous electric running on messed Indian roads.
