Here is the latest report that Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba is rumored to working on its own gaming console for China specific console but company declines to make any comment on this particular report.
Actually this has been exclusively reported by Niko Partners, Market Researcher and as per the statement made by Lisa Cosmas Hanson, the managing director at Niko Partners in an email suggesting that she heard this from a reliable source that Alibaba in plans to launch the device early next year.
We would like to acknowledge you that China is the marketplace where consoles where banned for 15 years by the government and country lifted the ban earlier this year. And following this lifting of ban, Microsoft launched the Xbox One in September and Sony is also set to launch the PS4 in China on Jan 11.
“They have been talking to developers about potentially getting content, some of if domestically developed to avoid the headaches of foreign game content rules yet there are of course domestic content rules too,” Cosmas Hanson said.
As far as we are concerned, Alibaba could have been the game changer in gaming console market in China as the industry is dominated by Sony and Microsoft.
