Here is the latest report that Microsoft has acquired email startup Acompli for around $200 Million as per the reports suggested by Re/Code. This report was previously announced by Microsoft prematurely but later removed but now it’s been official.
And it looks like Microsoft’s main perception behind this acquisition is to provide better email viewing experience to their users as Yahoo and Google are investing plenty of efforts in improving their mailing services.
Basically, Acompli is a startup which focuses on making email prioritize apps for iOS and android platform and its app allows you to manage your calendar and attach files from Google Drive, Dropbox and Microsoft’s OneDrive.
On this, “18 months ago we started building a team and a product around the idea that we could make mobile email better. Today that journey continues as part of a larger organization with the technology, talent, and market reach that will help us take the vision of Acompli to hundreds of millions of mobile users across the world.” wrote by Javier Soltero, CEO of Acompli on a blog post.
Irrespective of acquisition, Acompli services is still supportable for Non-Microsoft services and platforms.
