Micromax has unveiled another machine gun under its Canvas series in an event held in Delhi today, the phone is called “Canvas Silver 5” which it claims (at 5.1 mm) is the world’s slimmest smartphone. Wait for a second! I know you guys are quite confused by reading these words “World’s Slimmest” as we already have phones from Oppo and Vivo but Micromax is claiming Silver 5 to be scientifically thinnest in comparison of Oppo R5 and Vivo X5 Max as Canvas Silver 5 comes with an end-to-end thickness of 5.1 mm and doesn’t have any bump on its body.
Apart from its thickness factor, the phone carries a 4.8-inch AMOLED HD screen along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is 4G compatible, weighing 97 grams. This device is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It has an internal storage capacity of 16 GB but doesn’t have any expandable option. For photography purposes, it has an 8 Megapixel rear camera along with a Sony IMX219 sensor and a Blue Glass filter. In general, Sony sensor is a stacked CMOS sensor that is used by the company for consuming relatively less power while photography tasks.
All these features are backed by 2000 mAH battery and runs Android Lollipop Operating System. The phone has a metallic rim made out with the help of aircraft grade aluminum and is priced at Rs 17,999. It comes in black and gold colors.
In addition to this, the company also announced a new serve policy for the Canvas Silver 5 “a door step phone service” which means consumers can go online or make a call to register complaints regarding Silver 5. The device will be collected directly from consumer’s home and will be delivered back within a span of 7 days.
