Entry level smartphone segment seems to be the most targeted one of these budding smartphone companies. But then again, it’s good to see that the smartphone market is flourishing day-by-day in India.
Celkon on Thursday launched the Campus Nova A352E handset in the Indian market, after listing it on its site earlier this week. Like many other smartphone makers (and following the recent trends of these companies), the company seems to be keeping ecommerce websites as a source of promotion and advertisement of the mobiles.
The smartphone will be a Snapdeal-exclusive at Rs. 1,999 until October 23 as a part of the company’s Diwali promotion.
In terms of specifications, the Celkon Campus Nova smartphone isn’t the best you can imagine but given at this price, you wouldn’t get this config anywhere else in the world. For one thing, it comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and not the KitKat version. Also, it seems to be the case that the mobile wouldn’t be upgradable to any further OS updates.
The dual-SIM Celkon Campus Nova A352E runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320×480 pixels) TFT display. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz processor (unspecified), coupled with 256MB of RAM. A 2-megapixel rear camera is also housed on the handset.
The Campus Nova A352E includes 512MB of built-in storage with microSD card support (up to 32GB). On the connectivity front, the smartphone includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and GPRS/ EDGE options. The smartphone features a 1400mAh Li-ion battery.
This smartphone seems to be ideal for kids who want to receive their first mobile and wish it were a smartphone. This smartphone wouldn’t be usable for you in the long run.
