As we all know that internet is becoming a place for everything that we need in our life whether it is related to our household products or anything that we want to purchase. Internet is the key to the solution of every query. In last three years, we have seen a tremendous evolution of the internet and eventually it became a fully-fledged industry with the arrival of retailer brands such as Amazon, Ebay or Flipkart. In addition to this, We have numerous study oriented sites and firms which includes KhanAcademy, Quora, Wikipedia and of course Google search engine. Now we are only one click away from our friends and family members as Facebook and Twitter allow us to have a chat and get connected with our loved ones. At present scenario, we are accessible to everything on internet.
Besides retail, education and social media sector, there is another area called Media. Yes, you got this right, and I would like to acknowledge this thing that, media is the most important part of today’s world. Because a media is the only source that provide us knowledge regarding current affairs and day-to-day things happening across the world.
For me, being a professional blogger is equivalent to a professional journalist and a news blog is equal to newspaper or electronic news channel. And that’s how I think about blogging profession and for me the word “blog” is a synonym of media. And in the current point of time, blogging is a form of new media and with the success of blogs like Huffington Post, TechCrunch, and The Verge. And I can conclude this fact that a blog is a serious business, blogging is not a joke and being a professional blogger is more than journalism.
But there was a period in my life when I was in my 10th standard, and it was a time when I got to know everything and every aspect of blogging, blog, and its business. And I am thankful to God that I had recognized my writing talent and passion about technology at an early age.
In 2011, I created my blog on free blogging platform named “WordPress.com” but I needed a credit card for making a domain name purchase for my blog, and it costs hardly $18. But I was in the middle of my 10th board exams and at the same time I was so passionate about blogging. But couldn’t able to decide whether I should continue to focus on my studies or indulge myself into multi-tasking by performing both blogging, as well as study at a same time.
Then one day my mother came to my room and used to talk about my daily routine and my preparation for board exams. But in those days, I didn’t manage to interact with my family member and even with my mom in proper manner so that day me and my mom together had a long conversation. And between chit chat, I told my mom about my new hobby that I have evolved in past days called “blogging” and told her every aspect of blogging and how it works and makes money. Then I opened number of reputed blogs on my computer screen and asked her to see those giants. Eventually, she gained basic knowledge of blogging concept, and she also impressed by the fact that how I relate blogging to media industry. Then I told my mom that “I am very confused and in a situation of dilemma and don’t know whether I should proceed with studies only, or I should go with both”. My mother knew me very well, and she knew that I am exquisite at studies, and I never take my studies in easy going manner. And then she said to me that “If you know, what are you doing and have the passion for this particular activity then don’t let it go because life gives us only one chance.” Those words of my mother and that day inspired me and filled me with optimism to carry on my studies and blogging profession in effective and efficient manner. And after acquiring that lesson from my mom, I went to my dad and asked him to give me his credit card to create a stuff called blog with a proper domain thing. And after few discussion about the concept of blogging with my dad, eventually he agreed to it. That’s how I created my blog “abrition.com” and became one of the youngest bloggers of India.
