The use of air drones were primarily applied for battle or recon purposes but perhaps not many people know about the fact that these drones can even be used to deliver packages. If this is the case then perhaps we can roughly estimate that a package would be delivered within 30 minutes to couple of hours from ordering the commodity online. This would greatly enhance the business of these ecommerce websites. However, this wasn’t implemented in India.
Well that is until now, when Amazon has declared its intention to apply the drone delivery system in India. This system though is still under test and for the time being, it would only be implemented in the cities of Bangalore and Mumbai only. But there is no denying of the fact that should this system be implemented all over India, shopping will truly become revolutionized altogether.
However, in this system, you need to make sure that the packages don’t weigh more than 2.3 kilos of weight. Surely, you cannot expect a grand piano to dropped over your house roof! However, 2.3 kilos might seem too less in the beginning, but the truth is that almost 80 percent of the products sold by Amazon are less than this specified weight.
These drones have a range of about 10 miles, which is roughly 19 kilometers, which means it can cover an area of over 1100 square kilometers from the warehouse which is pretty impressive in the first place. This system should be expected to be implemented from this Diwali onwards.
