Why Windows users won’t access Google Maps

This is a crucial news for many windows lovers that Google is not supporting Windows 8 browser anymore. Actually this error was firstly featured on The Verge’s forum where many users claimed that they are unable to access Google Maps from their windows 8 device’s browser Internet Explorer. It means when they are trying to reach Google Maps they were redirected to Company’s official homepage.

Many sites still finding the main reason behind this error but Google told a statement to Gizmodo that “The mobile web version of Google Maps is optimized for WebKit browsers such as Chrome and Safari. However, since Internet Explorer is not a WebKit browser, Windows Phone devices are not able to access Google Maps for the mobile web.”

But In my opinion this could be the rivalry step from Google in order to destroy Microsoft because previously Google Maps was accessible on Windows 8 browsers.

Microsoft also came up with an official statement to Gizmodo on this issue and said “Internet Explorer in Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 use the same rendering engine.”
