Here is the latest report that finally former photo giant kodak wins clearance to sell its patents and according to a latest statement by Kodak’s VP and Chief Intellectual Property Officer, Timothy Lynch “The Apple and FlashPoint claims are baseless and Kodak will still seek dismissal on summary judgment in July,”
“owever, today’s ruling provides a Court-approved process allowing buyers to acquire the patents free and clear of all ownership allegations, regardless of the status of the dispute with Apple and Flashpoint at the time of closing.”
Lynch went on to thank the court for enabling “us to move ahead with our patent auction in a timely manner and with clarity on ownership for the winning buyer.” Kodak plans to open its auction in August.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Allan Gropper said in a hearing on Monday he will approve an order that would allow the Rochester, NY.-based company to sell more than 1,100 digital imaging patents, despite vocal objections to the sale from both Apple and spun-off company FlashPoint Technology.
