Here is the latest report, that we’ve got from exceptional information of The Wall Street Journal and according to them “ Federal Communications Commission proposed a $25,000 fine on Google Inc., accusing the search giant of deliberately obstructing an investigation into whether the company violated federal rules when its street-mapping service collected and stored data from unencrypted Wi-Fi networks in 2010.”
On the other hand Slash Gear claimed that “The FCC has noted that Google has been failing to respond to their requests for emails as well as other information and have similarly refused to identify the employees involved in the incident. The FCC is clearly not messing around with this situation, noting that although it does seem that the data collected over three years was legal to collect and keep because it was not encrypted, they’re still fining Google for their seemingly poor effort in helping move the investigation forward.”
